Alysa Kassay for NC District 6 – Empowering Women, Supporting Seniors & Veterans, and Building a Future for All

Washington has forgotten who it serves.

I won't let it forget you.

I’m running for Congress because Washington has forgotten who it is supposed to serve. For more than 30 years, I worked at the IRS, where I saw firsthand how tax laws and government policies are written to benefit billionaires and special interests—while most working families are left behind.

I refused to stay silent when I was forced to fire employees who had taken the same oath I did. I refused to stay silent when hardworking public servants were treated as expendable—cast aside by the very government they swore to serve. And I will not stay silent while the same leaders take your personal data and use it as they see fit. The IRS wants to replace public servants with private contractors who have no accountability but full access to your tax information. Why? Because to them, we are nothing more than a transaction. That isn’t just bad policy—it’s a quiet kind of violence against working families who deserve dignity, respect, and security.

I’ve also seen firsthand how people in our community are struggling—how veterans, like my father, God rest his soul in Salisbury, wait far too long for the care they earned. And I’ve seen how Congress puts profits ahead of people, like when it delayed nursing home staffing requirements until 2034 under the “Big Beautiful Bill”—a reckless decision that will make conditions worse for patients and their families. These choices hurt people, and I will not stand by and watch.

I’m not running to represent a party or a political machine. I’m running to represent you—the people who deserve a fair shot, a real voice in Washington, and to reclaim a government rooted in respect, fairness, and common sense.

In Congress, I will fight to:

  • Protect women’s rights and ensure freedoms are not rolled back.

  • Safeguard Social Security so every senior can retire with dignity.

  • Lower the cost of healthcare and hold corporations accountable.

  • Defend your personal data from exploitation.

  • Build an economy that works for the middle class, not just the wealthy few.

  • Extend free high-speed internet to every household, because if Washington can afford tax breaks for billionaires, it can afford to ensure every family, student, worker, and senior has the internet access they need to thrive.

Real change comes from the people. Together, we can tell Washington—which still hasn’t figured it out—that we are done waiting. We are ready to be seen, to be heard, and to do the hard work. I am. Stand with me.
